Australia chances defeat Malaysia at AFF U-19 Youth Championship Final

Payback that's the right words for Australia to play against Malaysia in the final of AFF U-19 Youth Championship. The final will be held on Monday 19th August 2019 at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The Harimau Malaya Under 18 hopefully to defend their title against Australia. Previously they were met in the group which Malaysia won 3-0. Malaysia with 9 points has won 3, and 2 lost in runner up of group B. They had lifted first Aff youth title last year when they beat Myanmar 4-3 in the final.

In the semifinal, Malaysia defeating Indonesia 4-3 in a thrilling match which was decided in the extra time. Mohammed Aiman Afif made 1-0 in the 19th minute but Indonesia equalised in the 45th minute through Beckham Putra. Luqman Hakim Shamsudin made it 2-1 to the Malaysians in the 54th minute. Indonesia scored twice in quick succession with goals from Muhammad Fajar Fathurrahman and Muhammad Salman Alfarid to make it 3-2.

Luckily, Harith Haiqal Adam has scored penalty in the 88th minute before Harith make it 4-3 in extra time to the reigning champions.

Meanwhile Australia defeated 2018 runner up, Myanmar in the other semifinal 2-1 as Lachlan Brook and Kai Trewin scored to overturn an 18th-minute opener from Myanmar’s La Min Htwe.

However, it will be his successor Brad Maloney, a former Australia international, who is hoping to help Malaysia Tigers win their second title in as many years with a win over his home nation.
