Lee Chong Wei won over Kai Schaefer 21-19, 21-15

Malaysia has made it to the quarter-finals of the Thomas Cup in 2016 after successfully defeating Germany 5-0, yesterday

In the first match, Lee Chong Wei has gained the first point by beating Kai Schaefer 21-19, 21-15.

The second point was contributed by our men's doubles, Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong with a straight sets victory over Richard Domke-Fabian Holzer 21-12, 21-11.

In the third match involving second singles player Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin ,, defeated Lars Schaenzler in straight sets 21-7, 21-16.

Point four countries was collected by former All England champion doubles, Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong who overcame Mark Lamsfuss-Josche Zurwonne 21-15, 21-16.

In the fifth match, Chong Wei Feng has completed a 5-0 point victory after beating David Peng 21-9, 21-18.

In another match, South Korea defeated England 5-0.

Today Malaysia will meet South Korea to determine the champion of Group C. Only victory will determine seeded to avoid facing a difficult path.

Thomas Cup 2016 : Malaysia defetead England 4-1

Tan Boon Heong-Koo Kien Keat lost to Peter Briggs and Tom Wolfenden 18-21, 21-18, 17-21

Our men's badminton squad has defeated England in the first match of Group C in Kunshan Sports Center last night.

Datuk Lee Chong Wei had no problems to overcome Toby Penty 21-15, 21-1 in the first singles match.

Followed by a second victory in the men's doubles, Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong in straight sets, beating Marcus Ellis and Chris Langride with 21-12, 21-17.

In the third match, Malaysia's second singles player has contributed to the victory over Sam Parsons 21-10, 21-10.

Unluckily, in the fourth match, our veteran doubles Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong lost to Peter Briggs and Tom Wolfenden 18-21, 21-18, 17-21.

Goh Soon Huat complete our victory 4-1 over England by defeating Alex Lane 21-15, 19-21, 21-13.

In the next match, Malaysia will play against Germany at 1.30 pm today.

Malaysia lost the opening match of the Uber Cup 2016

In the beginning of the group A match, Malaysia lost to China 5-0. As hosts of the tournament, China presented their world top players.
In the first match, the world's third ranked player Li Xuerui easily defeated Tee Jing Yi in straight sets 21-11, 21-13.

China subsequently acquired the second point in doubles action by the world's third ranked women's doubles, Yu Yang and Tan Yuanting. But was given a tough fight by the Malaysians, Vivian and Khe Wei. so dragged into a third set ended in favor of the Chinese team, 21-11, 14-21, 21-18.

In the third match, the Chinese women's singles players in the world ranking fourth, Wang Yihan of China has confirmed the victory by beating Goh Jin Wei in straight sets 21-16, 21-14.

In the fourth match involving the men's doubles, Chow Mei Kuan and Lee Meng Yan was beaten by Tian Qing and Zhao Yun Lei, 15-21, 21-19, 11-21.

In the last match, Sun Yu of China has completed the fifth point through an easy win over Sonia Cheah Su Ya 21-9, 21-10.

Johor Southern Tiger The 2016 FA Cup Champion

JDT has been named the 2016 winner of the FA Cup Final tonight. This significant victory has made JDT as a team to be feared in Malaysia and as the best club in the Asian region in 2015.

At minute 5, PKNS earlier scored through a penalty kick taken by Gabriel Miguel Guerra. But after that, JDT have equalized in the 15th minute, also through a penalty by Safiq Rahim.

 

The situation becomes increasingly tense, as both teams continued to foul up has forced the referee gave a yellow card frequently. However JDT had added a second goal in the 35th minute through Jorge Pereyra Diaz who had shot the winning goal. Results remained 2-1 until the final whistle with JDT's victory ,.

Meanwhile, Elavaran PKNS FC coach said the cause of the defeat was due to a mistake of defenses can not withstand the constant attacks by JDT.

While Gomez as JDT coach said they deserved to win after working hard and diligently for this final. For the record JDT just won the Charity Shield in 2016 and this is their second trophy of the 2016.

Diaz, scorer of the second goal JDT has been named the best player in 2016 FA Cup final.
