THE SULTAN OF JOHOR CUP 2014 FINAL India vs Great Britain


Hockey The Sultan of Johor Cup U21 2014 ended a while ago with the title remain to India after defeated unbeaten Great Britain in the league stage.

India's 2-1 win over Great Britain saw the greatness of India after won the gold medals at the Asian Games in Incheon Korea recently.



India stands out as a success greatness after tied Great Britain 1-1 until the last minute. India shown high morale, successfully earning a penalty corner for the last 45 seconds and get the winning goal through Hermanpreet.


With this victory, India managed to retain the title in the last edition and become a giant hockey in Asia.



Earlier in the league stage, Great Britain beat India 2-0  


In the match for 3rd and 4th place, the Aussie has managed to beat the Kiwis 6-2 to win the bronze medal.



While Malaysia finished 5th after beating Pakistan 3-1. Earlier in the group stage, Pakistan has managed a 2-2 draw with Malaysia.

HOCKEY THE SULTAN OF JOHOR CUP 2014 Malaysia continues to grieve


Malaysia failed to put themselves in the top four in the championship of the Sultan of Johor Cup in 2014 when they drew 2-2 against Pakistan.

Arul Selvaraj requested that hockey fans do not blame the players for failing at this time but he will take responsible for the failure.

Malaysia is ranked 5th going down again against Pakistan on 19 October 2014 at 3.30 pm. to seize the 5th and 6th place in the overall tournament.





Other results, Great Britain beat New Zealand 3-0, while India has shocked Australia with the results match 6-2.



India vs Great Britain at 8:35 tonight in the final of the Australia vs New Zealand on the 3rd place playoff and 4th at 6:05 this afternoon.


THE SULTAN CUP U21 2014 Another Malaysia sad episode


 Malaysia failed to find victory, once again suffer the same fate when they lost to India 4-2. Malaysia previously defeated by Great Britain with a 3-2.

With this second defeat, Malaysia ranked 5th, behind New Zealand. While Pakistan was ranked last.

The result saw the Great Britain team victory over Australia 5-1, while New Zealand's 3-2 win over Pakistan. It was New Zealand's first victory in the championship hockey of The Sultan Cup 2014.




The next schedule will take place on October 18, starting with Australia vs India at 4:05 pm followed by Pakistan vs Malaysia at 6:05 pm and the New Zealand vs Great Britain at 8:05 pm Malaysian time.





THE SULTAN JOHOR CUP U21 2014 Great Britain outclass Malaysia


Malaysia suffered their second defeat at the hands of Great Britain a moment ago with a 3-2. Thus closed the opportunity for Malaysia to reach the final.

Great Britain much dominated the game in the first half and has produced two goals for early minutes to 5th by Benjamin James Brignull and in a minute later by David Goodfield through deflection.



The decision remained until the end of the first half  with 2-0.


Arul Selvaraj's players should be praised when relentless attack to the opponent goal. Shahril Saabah hit the first goal in the 49th minute to reduce a deficit. But Luke Taylor successfully added a goal for  Great Britain on 62th minute.



Once again praised to Shahril Saabah when he made another goal from direct penalty corner drag flick in the 65th minute to Malaysia continues to reduce the deficit.


However Malaysia run out of time and decision remained 3-2 until the final whistle.



Meanwhile the earlier matches, India beat Pakistan 6-0 and Australia defeated New Zealand 4-3.


The next match will take place on Thursday, October 16 which New Zealand vs Pakistan at 4:05 pm, Malaysia vs India at 6:05 pm and Australia vs Great Britain at 8:05 pm Malaysian time.

THE SULTAN JOHOR CUP U21 2014 Malaysia tie Kiwis


Arul Selvaraj team seemed comfortable with the draw after successfully tied New Zealand 1-1. Malaysia has overtaken New Zealand almost as early as the 6th minute, but the ball hit by Norsyafiq Sumantri successfully denied by New Zealand defender Brad Read. Malaysia's present goal in 12th minute by Mohd Najmi Jazlan with drag flick from a penalty corner pass.



Malaysia seems to defeat the Kiwis but on 47th minute the team made a silly error in a semi-circle and paid a heavy price. Ben Radovonich picked up a loose ball and doing flicked past Malaysia goalkeeper which make it 1-1 until the final whistle.

Even after a 1-1 draw, Malaysia almost get the next goal, but did not meet the target. Similarly Kiwis who squandered two penalty corner shots on the 60th and 65th minutes



Previously, the two teams have lost to their respective opponents on Sunday. Malaysia lost to Australia 2-1 and India beat New Zealand 2-1.


While the other results, Great Britain successfully managed to get second win by beating India 2-0 and Australia vs Pakistan 1-1.


With these results, Great Britain with 6 points still led the league standings, followed by Australia 4 pts, India 3 pts, Malaysia, New Zealand and Pakistan respectively with 1 point.



The next match will take place on 15 October, which Australia vs New Zealand at 4:05 pm followed by India vs Pakistan at 6:05 pm and Malaysia vs Great Britain at 8:05 pm (Malaysian time).

The Sultan of Johor Cup 2014 Malaysia ready for the challenge


Malaysia ready for the competition in The Sultan of Johor Cup 2014 from Oct 12-19. Malaysia lined nearly all the players who were played in the  17th Asian Games Incheon 2014 recently.

Head coach U21, ArulSelvaraj believe Malaysian hockey players can compete in The Sultan of Johor Cup 2014 until reach to final.



The tournament will keep status quo of six teams in the fourth of Sultan of Johor Cup edition. Countries that joined the Sultan of Johor Cup 2014 U21 are Australia, Great Britain, Pakistan, New Zealand, Malaysia and defending champion 2013, India. The venue will take place in Taman Daya Hockey Stadium Johor Bahru.



Malaysia will play against Australia today, October 12, 2014 at 8:05 pm. This match can be followed on Astro Arena 801 or online streaming.




Malaysian Hockey mission failed, Dharma Raj should be fired?

Head Coach Hockey of Malaysia, Muhammad Dharmaraj Abdullah is on hot issue after Malaysia hockey team lost in a series of matches in Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.


Malaysia won the first meeting against Canada with 2-0. After that, Malaysia has failed to achieve any victory even more shame when they lost to the country to 29 world, Trinidad & Tobago with score 2-4.

Furthermore, Malaysia lost with big defeat to England 1-8 and New Zealand 1-6.


Previous, Dharma Raj critized management MHC as 'very weak' and as managing hockey sport like in a cave.


He then called to give a show cause letter to explain to MHC before the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014  on the reason of openly criticizing MHC's management in his social Facebook's wall.
Senior Vice President of MHC, Manjid Majid Abdullah called Dharma Raj and his coaching staff should be fired as Malaysia Hockey team has another 50 days mission to Incheon Asian Games this coming September.


"I will give a full report on the meeting of the combination of coaching and it is up to them to support or not," said Manjid yesterday.


Prior to the Hoceky World Cup 2014,  10 senior players met Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, MHC president to do not let Dharma Raj to take responsibility as the Malaysia 's National Coach.
Malaysia will meet Scotland for the determination of the 7th and 8th place, while the women's hockey managed to finish 7th place when defeated Canada 3-0 in the determination of a penalty corner after draw 2-2.

Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 day 9 : Another gold for Malaysia

Malaysia has to wait another day to bring delightful moment to Malaysia Team after Ooi Tze Liang victory in Men's 3m Springboard final today.

With 4 over 6 round of the diving, Tze Liang maintain his momentum in 2nd ranked after Jack Laugher from England. Then he has taken lead of the group until 6th round to win for the 4th gold for the country. 

He lead the group with total point, 457.60, while Jack Laugher with 449.70. Bronze medal won by Oliver Dingley from England with 425.20 point.


Meanwhile two others divers, Ahmad Amsyar Azman is in 5th place with 412.65 and Chew YiWei in 10th place with 368.50.


In men hockey, there is another upset after Malaysia had defeated by New Zealand  1-6. It was another bad report and pending execution from Malaysia Hockey Confideration (MHC) to coach, Dharmaraj Abdullah.


Malaysia 's top women shuttler, Tee Jin Yee move to 3rd round (preliminary round) after beat Sri Lanka's Nadeera Murukkuwadura 21-9, 21-6  to advance. Meanwhile, in men single, Liew Daren and Chong Wei Feng move to  semi-finals to meet P.Kashyap and R.V. Gurusaidutt respectively.


In the mixed doubles, Chan Peng Soon-Lai Pei Jing defeated Buwaneka Dullewa-Madushika Buruwalage with straight set 21-13, 21-15. However  another mised pair, Tan Wee Kiong-Vivian Hoo lost to Chris Adcock-Gabrielle Adcock from England, 21-17, 21-11.

Malaysian Women's Hockey Team show the actual ability

The national women's hockey team proved that they are no longer whipping girls after meeting Australia yesterday. Despite losing 0-4, Mohd Nasihin Nubli satisfied with the increase in young girl who give excellent resistance to the world's top teams.

Next Malaysian Women's Hockey Team will meet Scotland tomorrow. 


Badminton remain outstanding without Chong Wei



Malaysia come as the defending champions start the game with the right steps when beating Barbados 5-0.

Malaysia was represented by Chong Wei Feng, Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong, Kient Keat-Chin Eei Hui, Chan Peng Soon-Lai Pei Jing and Tan Wee Kiong-Goh V Shem.

Hockey Asia Cup 2013 title tribute to Chua


Today will be held the tournament of the Asia Cup 2013 at Sultan Azlan Shah Stadium, Ipoh. It is the 9th edition of the Asia Cup since 1982.


Pakistan was the former finalist of world cup since 1971 is the favourite to grab the title other than South Korea and India. They won four times world champion and three times Asia Cup titles. 


Malaysia ranked 13th world hockey who are third in reserve list of World Cup 2014 has one foot in the World Cup as they await the winner of Oceania Cup to sneak in through the back door.


Meanwhile the defending champion, South Korea is already qualified for World Cup 2014 can afford to keep their foot off the gas and use the tournament as a warm up en route to the 2014 World Cup.


Paul Revington believe bringing home a maiden gold medal after the best finish at the tournament was a bronze medal in 2007.


If Malaysia win the tournament, they will drag India along into the World Cup but if Pakistan win the title of the Asia Cup 2013, the chances for India is over.

Malaysia will start campaign against Taiwan today at 8 p.m.

Asian Cup 2013 is the last chance for World Cup 2014

We have no choice but win the title of Asian Cup 2013 at Sultan Azlan Hockey Stadium, Ipoh, Perak from 24th August to 1st September.

The Malaysia national hockey coach, Paul Revington and his squad will be fully responsible to make the mission to world cup 2014 in Hague Netherlands from 2 to 15 June next year accomplished.


Thus, the natioanl goalkeeper, S, Kumar, urged teammates to work harder and try to solve all problems during the training sessions. Every players has to commit and fully focused on every game in the tournament soon.

Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) wanted the squad to champ the Asian Cup as the tournament offers a single slot for the World Cup and of course it is definitely challenging in the tournament soon.


The squad promise to fulfill the dream of the late Chua Boon Huat to qualify for the World Cup 2014 with Asia Cup title in Ipoh soon.


S. Kumar looks optimistic about the team's ability even though they will face South Korea or Pakistan as the main enemy of rival teams at the tournament soon.


The squad is scheduled to have two friendly matches against India and Germany  a week before the tournament start.


Once again S.Kumar hoped all players will enhance their mental strength and able to face crucial in every game and also optimists to complete all the opportunities in front of opponent's goal posts. He believes the spirit want to give back to the late Boon Huat and as a host (home) advantage, they will get full supports from audiences to boost player's spirits to achieve success in the Asia Cup soon.

In Asia Cup 2013, Malaysia is drawn in Group A together with Taiwan, Pakistan and Japan. Meanwhile South Korea, India, Bangladesh and Oman involving in Group B.

National hockey player died in a road crash


Chua Boon Huat, a national hockey player died in a road accident today. Tan Kuai Neo did not expect to lose her son also claimed as the same tragedy as her husband ago.

Nine years ago, Tan's husband, Chua Peng Hock died in an accident while riding a motorcycle with another vehicle, and now her beloved youngest son, Chua Boon Huat was a victim of a road accident too.

"I was surprised by the news of my son's death  as same tragedy of his father also went in the accident.

"Her son's girlfriend was called her via  phone at 4 a.m to clarify on Boon Huat's accident", she said today.

Boon Huat, 33, was killed when his car, a Proton Perdana rammed into water tankers at the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) near Kelana Jaya LRT station, at 2.25 a.m.


Tan and her children as soon as possible move to Kuala Lumpur from Malacca and arrived at University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) at 6 a.m. this morning.

Chua Boon Huat, fourth in family has a brother and two sisters

"Boon Huat is a child who likes to talk, obedient and cheerful," said Tan Kuai Neo.

Chua Boon Huat is a Malaysia hockey national player was a hockey player since in the school. He represent the National School Bandar Hilir, Malacca while in the standard four and played for Malacca High School for secondary school level.



"The last time I met Boon Huat is at the end of June, when he has free time and there is no match," Tan said, adding that no strange signs show before the accident. 

She said that her son's body will be cremated on Monday in Semabok, Malacca.

Melancholy atmosphere surrounding the hospital morgue when Chua Boon Huat's family attended the pending Boon Huat's autopsy until 10 a.m.

Boon Huat's eldest brother, a former national rugby player 1998-2004, Nor Aliff Najmi Chua, 42 (converted to Islam since eight years ago) said that hockey is his (Boon Huat) life. His interests in hockey since primary school after Aliff Najmi introduce  the sport to him.

Aliff received the news on his youngest brother's death at 4. a.m and rushed to KL immediately.

"I don't expect him to go to early because we love him very much but I pleased with divine certainty," he said.

Revington back down to field

 

The mood at the Bukit Jalil Stadium back to cheerful during training session. Revington as Malaysia Hockey Coach return to guide hockey senior squad for preparation for World Hockey League semi-final in JohorBahru from 29 June to 7 July 2013.


Recently the training was conducted by assistant coach Arul Selvaraj. However yesterday, the camp training atmosphere back to hear the South African-born 39-year-old voice and the players see the presence of so enthusiastically receiving Revington.

 
Revington said he was so happy that all the problems have been solved amicably. He praised Arul as assistant coach and other coaching staff that worked well during past two days of his absence.

 

Issues about Revington considered completed

 
The meeting yesterday was held between Revington, national youth coach Muhd Dhaarma Raj and Director of Program Developement 1MAS Lim Chiow Chuan at MSN, Bukit Jalil yesterday.Zolkples Embong said all parties involved have agreed to focus on their job.


 
"Revington will continue as a senior hockey coach until at least semi-finals at the World Hockey League at Johor Bharu starting 29 June 2013" said Zolkples, Director of MSN.

However, Zolkples said the future of South Africa's coach after the campaign ended remains unknown.

This situation would be happy to Malaysia Hockey Confederation (MHC), which still requires his services after the 2011's best coaches managed to improve the players' performance less than a year he guided the senior hockey.

 

Revington withdraw resignation

 


Paul Revington has drawn from his decision to resign as a coach of the senior national hockey. He continuing  to conduct the hockey team at least until the semi-final of the world hockey league starting 29 June 2013 in Johor Bahru. 

 
It is informed by YB Encik Khairy Jamaludin, Youth and Sports Minister told reporters after a closed-door meeting with him (Paul Revington) recently.

Khairy personally will handle the issue with Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, President of Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC).

 

Malaysia Men Hockey continue to suffer

South Africa previously won two test matches against Malaysia win a 2-1 and 3-1 and drew 4-4 at third action last Sunday.


Furthermore, yesterday national hockey squad lost the fourth (final) test matches 1-3 to South Africa in Randburg Hockey Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In the final match, South Africa opened the scoring through a penalty shot by Wade Paton in 15 minutes after Clint Panther fouled in the Malaysia's goal area.

 

In 55th minute, Pierre de Voux put Malaysia on pressure when releasing strong shot to bet Malaysia goalkeeper, Kairulnizam Ibrahim.

Malaysia got chance to narrow the difference points after Tengku Ahmad Tajudin Tengku Abdul Jalil scored a goal. However , South Africa confirmed the victory after last minutes goal from Julian Hykes.

The series tests was the part of the plan by Paul Revington, Malaysia national hockey coach to prepare the squad for the rival of semi-final of World Hockey League in Johore Bahru from 29th June to 7th July 2013.
