Our men's badminton squad has defeated England in the first match of Group C in Kunshan Sports Center last night.
Datuk Lee Chong Wei had no problems to overcome Toby Penty 21-15, 21-1 in the first singles match.
Followed by a second victory in the men's doubles, Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong in straight sets, beating Marcus Ellis and Chris Langride with 21-12, 21-17.
In the third match, Malaysia's second singles player has contributed to the victory over Sam Parsons 21-10, 21-10.
Unluckily, in the fourth match, our veteran doubles Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong lost to Peter Briggs and Tom Wolfenden 18-21, 21-18, 17-21.
Goh Soon Huat complete our victory 4-1 over England by defeating Alex Lane 21-15, 19-21, 21-13.
In the next match, Malaysia will play against Germany at 1.30 pm today.
